Not at all! A doula is a non-clinical role and I work alongside your medical team and your loved ones. My role is to complement their care and help them shine— not to give medical advice or make decisions for you. I help you and your partner feel confident, connected, and empowered throughout the birth process.
I support all types of births: hospital, birth center, or home. Whether you’re planning for an unmedicated birth, an epidural, or a cesarean, I’ll be there to help you feel informed and supported.
I completed a DONA-approved Birth Training at Flow of Life in Asheville, NC. I am currently pursuing my full DONA certification, but this is not required nor commonplace among practicing doulas.
Most families reach out sometime in the second or early third trimester, but it’s never too early or too late! Once you hire me, we’ll schedule prenatal sessions to talk through your birth preferences and prepare for labor together.
Absolutely. I welcome and affirm clients of all backgrounds and family structures. I’m especially passionate about supporting LGBTQIA2S+ and Latino families (¡hablo español!). My goal is for every client to feel seen, respected, and cared for.
Yes! Once you’re in active labor (we'll talk about what that means during our consult!), I’ll join you and stay by your side until your baby is born and you’re settled in afterward. I’m your continuous support person from start to finish.
I’ll still be there for you! My support continues before, during (as hospital policy allows), and after your cesarean. I can help you and your partner understand what’s happening, offer comfort measures, and ensure your recovery and bonding time feel supported.
I will always work with a backup doula that will agree to step in if I am unable to attend the birth for an unforeseen reason.
You can reach out through the Contact page on my site to set up a free video call consultation. We’ll chat about your goals, what kind of support you’re looking for, and see if we’re a good fit.
